While this appears to be but an empty chair, you'll know that the ghost of our heaviest president has taken a load off his feet when the chair suddenly collapses. Keep turning the crank and the chair rights itself again. The box on this automaton is made of unfinished maple and the sides are dovetailed together. The chair is constructed of maple and brass. This automaton is a little unusual in that the "figure" is implied by the action of the chair.
